Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 24, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and browser storage mechanisms Project Pak-LLM uses, what data they store, and how you can control them.
1What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites. We also use related browser storage technologies including localStorage and sessionStorage. This policy covers all such mechanisms.
2What We Store & Why
| Storage Key | Type | Purpose | Duration | Required? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| theme | localStorage | Remembers your dark/light mode preference | Persistent | No |
| chatFontSize | localStorage | Remembers your preferred chat text size | Persistent | No |
| hasSeenFreeTierNotice | localStorage | Remembers if you've dismissed the server cold-start notice | Persistent | No |
| Firebase Auth Token | IndexedDB (Firebase SDK) | Maintains your authenticated session after login | 1 hour (auto-refreshed) | Yes — required for login |
| pak_llm_guest_id | 1st-party cookie | Persistent unique guest visitor ID to map behavior telemetry across sessions | 365 days | No |
| pak_llm_guest_info | 1st-party cookie | Stores browser parameters (screen size, locale language, timezone, landing referrer) for layout optimizations and diagnostics | 365 days | No |
| Vercel Analytics | 1st-party cookie | Anonymized page view statistics; no personal data | 90 days | No |
3What We Do NOT Use
We do not use:
- Third-party advertising or tracking cookies (Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
- Cross-site tracking or fingerprinting
- Cookies that track you across other websites
- Session recording tools (e.g., Hotjar, FullStory)
4How to Control Storage
You can clear all localStorage and cookies at any time via your browser settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear Browsing Data). This will reset your theme preference and dismiss-notice state, but will also log you out of the workspace.
To selectively remove a single key, open your browser's DevTools → Application tab → Local Storage → right-click the key and select Delete.
Blocking all cookies will prevent Firebase authentication from working, which means you will not be able to sign in to the workspace.
